Comprehensive Oral Exam
What Is A Comprehensive Oral Exam?
All of our new patients at Forest Crossing Family Dental receive a complete oral exam. If your first visit is the result of a dental emergency, we will address that problem first. Your subsequent visit will include a comprehensive dental evaluation of your entire oral health system. The evaluation determines the current condition of your teeth, supportive soft tissue (gums and jawbone), the temporomandibular joints (TMJs) that facilitate the movement of your lower jaw, and the muscles that move the jaw.
Our dental examination is a systematic process during which we will investigate many facets of your oral and systemic health in order to identify pathologies or concerns and develop a uniquely customized treatment plan that is catered towards maximizing your oral health and wellness of body while meeting your goals and expectations.
The foundation of all good dental treatment is a thorough comprehensive exam. Your first appointment will lay the groundwork for all future treatment and allows us to get an up-close view of your teeth, gums, mouth and jaw. This exam is more than just a cleaning, it is an “extensive evaluation and the recording of all extraoral, intraoral and soft tissues” as defined by the American Dental Association.
